When someone says/writes learnt they are from england, or at least not from the USA.
When someone says writes learned they are from the USA.
i think i would say " you can not change others you can only change your self" .
if you cant think of anything what is the next number in this sequence?.
what do these sums have in common?.

i just found this out last night.
(preface: this is a husband and wife that i have come to be friends with after leaving the borg, they are christians).
we were sitting around visiting last night and having a good time when my friend starts in on illegal immigration and politics and starts throwing out his hate speech which eventually turns to homosexuals.
I believe dinosaurs existed.
But I can understand why some don't believe they existed.
When I was young, I would go to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History
and they had a t rex on display, the skeleton.
When I went to the museum in school several times the teachers told
us that was a real dinosaur.
I thought it was real, until I was grown and old and found out it was a model.
Then researching fossils.
Fossils are not bones they are minerals and many museums that display fosils
are displaying a plaster caste of a fossil and the fossil is in many museums.
So I can see why some people believe the dinosaurs did not exist.
The world is full of misinformation.
I grew up watchiing a cartoon where Wile E. coyote chased the road runner who always got a
way because of his super speed.
It turns out that a roadrunners top speed is 26mph and a coyote can hit 40.
You have to research what you believe.
i would appreciate your opinion on this historian and his explination for the birth of christianity.. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mwuzozn-9dc.
please watch all of it before you comment.
i found it very interesting,.
I watched listened to it, while I played scrabble.
There are always two sides to every story and some times there are many sides to a story.
He poses some posibilities. And he critiques Paul and his writngs.
He is like many preachers, not all, He is in it for a buck.
He is highly educated, phd and he specializes in critiquing Chrisitainity.
Google him, go to his web page.
I enjoy reading history and how things came about.
Maybe the priest class created Jesus,
and maybe they didnt.
If you want to believe Jesus was not real, this guy gives you some
amunition for your belief.
I think in the end you will be empty and he will keep chugging along makng a living
doing what he does.
Unless you think your life is better off, believing there is no God and there never was a Jesus.
Then its a win, win.
i am not much of a reader as i have two many distractions, but i fancy a challenging read, so please list any book that has changed your entire world view on everything.
i remember as a teenager buying at a yard sale, norman vincent peales " the power of positive thinking" and at the time that had a big impact on me.
but i am a little bit more in to " realistic positive thinking" now..
On the way out, I just bought your book from Amazon.
It had good reviews.
I am lookng forward to reading it.
the watchtower publishing house has been going strong now for over 100 years, publishing numerous.
books and magazines, many which are now out of circulation.
many of the doctrines created by this.
to JB....out of sheer morbid curiosity, maybe you can list for us which religion is:
grade school?
junior high?
high school?
college?
Ok. My opinion on my journey.
They are all kindergarden all religions.
How can I know, I am only 62 and there is a world of information out there.
But the best I can see they are all kindergarden.
The answer is within.
Each person has to work out their own salvation.
Each person has to make and complete their own journey.
We both started out in the kingdom hall and now we are on our paths leading to the progression of our
journey.
But the reward is the journey, not the destination.
The unexamined life is not worth living, I think it was Aristotle, or Socrates.
just to point out that there is no difference between those who are in an organization or church and those who are not.
it rains on us all.
the mistake some make is to think some people are more righteous than others.
You'd think, JB, that all that preaching would have more of an effect on people's actions.
Preachings just a start, then you have to read the word.
Ultimately, I think there are some good people.
I don't know how many and I don't know how good.
But I have met some good people.
No ones perfect.
There are a lot of things that make a peson good or bad.
A lot of factors are external so they do fall on leaders religious, political and social.

Would God (Jehovah) really choose lying and corrupt religious Charlatans like the Watchtower
It depends on what scenerio you choose to look at the world and life from.
I have many.
One of the ones that God uses the watchtower in is,
The Watchtower is a spiritual kindergarden.
Your not supposed to stay in it for ever.
You have to wake up and move on.
Those that stay in kindergarden all their life are very slow.
You could say they wasted their life.
But it is up to each person to wake up and smell
the coffee, smell the roses
It must take some tremendous character defect to spend ones life in the watchtower.
It is like being ungrateful to God,
apathetic to life, indifferent, unconcerned, ungrateful for being born
uninterested in life.
i mean there are some great debates running on this forum :-.
what is spirit exactly?.
what is love?.
eat the best food--drink the finest wine--and f*ck the prettiest women
----IF you can afford to
Big Mac, That's why I got to go to the gym every day for an hour.
All that good food and drink and then to still look good for the pretty women.

I like cruising Barna surveys, which make it clear that self-professed evangelicals live the same as their "worldly" contemporaries.
It makes one wonder, what difference does a profession of faith make?
The way I see it, God made Balams ass talk.
If the preachers didnt preach God would make the stones cry out or so the scriptures say.
All the preachers I know were super hypocrites and i knew a lot from working at the county jail
and life in general.
But to those who much is given, much is expected and each person has to work out theri
own salvation.
From the preachers I knew, it was like they viewed it as a job.
I'm not saying that is good or bad. It is just the way it is.
Of course there are some that are very spiritual, whatever that means.

The bible says God makes no distinction.
Atheist use that argument as one of many in support of their beliefs.
